5 Simple Tips to Promote your Content to Reach a Large Audience

5 Simple Tips to Promote your Content to Reach a Large Audience

You write good content but sorry to say, it’s useless if your audience doesn’t know about it. Businesses thrive on content, and the content survives with its marketing and ongoing promotion.

According to a survey by DemandGen, 97% of marketers use prescriptive content or content that has a formula for success. However, when it comes to marketing and content promotion, not one size fits all.

The competition in B2B sales is tougher than ever, and you need to keep working on your content promotion efforts.

And here are my five tips for your content to get more audience –

  1. Push content to your email subscribers
Push content to your email subscribers

You do have a list of people who subscribed you for updates, right?
Those subscribers are your ideal audience, and they love hearing from you.
According to a survey by BtoB Magazine, 59% of B2B marketers consider email as their most effective channel.
You have your audience, who is ready to open and engage with the content you send. So, leverage the power of email and reach a large number of your loyal followers.

  2. Share to social media, multiple times
    Share to social media

In this world of bits and bytes, humane touch can make quite a difference. Show your presence on social media sites, where the people are.
Share your content there, give people a chance to interact with you and… listen to what they say.
Moreover, 76% of people use Facebook to find interesting content (on their feed), reveals Hubspot.
Another study by Hubspot also suggests that 74% of people use Facebook for professional purposes too. And a B2B marketer shouldn’t ignore the opportunity.
LinkedIn, however, is more popular for B2B content promotion. And why not? When it comes to content, LinkedIn is the most effective to have audience engagement.
  3. Republishing the content
    Republishing the content

Sites like Quora and LinkedIn allows you to publish your content. And the good thing is that you can pull out snippets of your content or a part of it and publish it again there.
Make a few edits or repurpose it into something new, put a link to the original one and you have got your existing content a new audience.
Another website popular for content republishing is Medium. However, not a lot of marketers use it yet.
As per HubSpot, only about 9% of marketers are willing to have Medium publishing by 2019.Click To Tweet
But, distributing your blog content on Medium can be quite effective in content promotion and driving traffic.
  4. Make it easy for the readers to share
“One active user is a big deal. They have 140 friends. And their friends have 140 friends each. Therefore, one piece of great content has the chops to reach 2.7m within just four generations.”
    – Jeremy Waite
And the users sharing your content thus is a powerful method of content promotion.
So, make the task easy for them.
For example, you can have strategic placement of “Click to tweet” and “Pin it” buttons for easy sharing on Twitter and Pinterest, respectively.
  5. Collaborate with Influencers
    Collaborate with Influencers

The last method in my list of content promotion strategies would be to join hands with the industry influencers. But who are the influencers? These are the people who are the leaders in your field of work. They have a large number of followers who love them.
Getting an influencer to ‘endorse’ your content can give it a significant boost. 6 in 10 teens follow advice from influencers over celebrity endorsements, says a study by Google.

And that would be all for now.

Irrespective of the methods you choose for your content promotion, keep an eye on the progress to see what works and which one didn’t.

“Content marketing comes down to commitment. There’s no halfway. You’re either in, or you’re out.” - Joe Pulizzi,Click To Tweet

And be flexible!

Unless you’re willing to comply with the changing needs, you won’t get the desired success with your content.

Create, experiment and have fun, marketing!
